WHO WE ARE
Established in 200XXX by Michael Tibbs and based in Franschhoek, South Africa, the Exotic Plant Company has become renowned as the leading importer and supplier of the highest quality orchids, exotic plants and cut flowers to the Cape Town and Winelands areas.
We have carefully-chosen suppliers in Europe, Asia and Africa that ship flowers to us almost weekly or as often as demand requires.
WHAT WE DO
DESIGN AND SUPPLY
We offer a full-service design and supply service, where, in addition to sourcing the flowers and making-up arrangements, we can hire or buy for you any vase or container that may be needed and arrange for the order to be delivered, using our own vehicles or a courier service. To the extent orchid plants are used, these can also be hired for any single event rather than purchased, so reducing your costs.
SUPPLY-ONLY
If you have your own team to make up flower arrangements for an event, we are happy to provide only the flowers or plants, ready to be made up.
CONTRACT SUPPLY
If you need flowers for your home or business on a regular basis, we offer various options depending on your requirements and budget. We can replace old arrangements with new as often as required, or simply maintain and spruce-up existing arrangements.
We can deliver using our own vehicles to the Cape Town and Winelands areas on weekdays and, often, at weekends (subject to stock availability). If you need an order in other parts of South Africa or further afield, we will use a preferred courier service.

If you want something different for your home, business or event, we are the flower people to come to. Through many years of travelling and experience, Michael Tibbs knows the suppliers of the most unusual and best quality orchids and other flowers around the world – and at the best price.
IMPORT CAPABILITY
Even if you have found an overseas supplier, you still need to get the flowers into the country and we are one of only a few companies in South Africa that have the requisite import licences for the unusual flowers and orchids for which we are renowned.
DELIVERY
Although the more notice we have to fulfil an order the better, we know that some of our customers need flowers at short notice whether for events or because their existing suppliers have let them down. We will strive to do what we can to help and we are open 7 days a week to be able to do so.
RETAIL SHOP
Our retail shop at our site in Franschhoek is adjacent to the wine shop of the Môreson Wine Estate. The shop is open 7 days a week from 10.00 a.m. until 4.00 p.m. Click here for directions.
At the retail shop, we offer the following:
ORCHID PLANTS AND CUT FLOWERS
We have an ever-changing variety of orchids for sale in our greenhouse, some in bloom, some in bud, depending on the season. In addition, we have a selection of cut flowers available.
ARRANGEMENTS
Cut flower and orchid plant arrangements are also on display. With whatever we have in stock, we are always happy to make up arrangements while you wait.
CONTAINERS
We have an eclectic mix of containers and vases for flowers and orchid plants. If you would like any container made up with any of our orchid plants growing in our greenhouse, please see a member of our staff who will happily make up a display arrangement for you to take home while you wait.
GIFTS, HOMEWARES AND HANDBAGS
A variery of gifts, homewares, candles and cushions, all with a gardening or floral theme are for sale.
EMBROIDERED HANDBAGS AND LINENS
We have an exclusive collection of embroidered handbags and an expanding range of popular embroidered table, bathroom and bed-linen, all of which can be made to order to the extent a desired piece may be out of stock.
PRINTS, PAINTINGS AND CARDS
We have a collection of original botanical prints for sale, together with changing display of artistic works.
GARDENING SUPPLIES
You can find a wide-selection of fertilisers, moss, bark, support stems and bindings to look after your orchids at home and make-up your own arrangements.

We are based in Franschhoek, in the Winelands area of the Western Cape, where we have our greenhouses, together with a retail shop that is open 7 days a week from 10.00 a.m. until 4.00 p.m.
You can find us adjacent to the wine shop at the Môreson wine estate, located at the end of the Happy Valley Road. The turn-off for Happy Valley Road is on the south side of the R45, opposite the entrance to La Motte wine estate. Happy Valley Road is sign-posted in either direction on the R45. You may park in the car park of the Môreson wine estate and our greenhouses and shop are located opposite the wine shop beyond Bread and Wine restaurant.
